Harriett David’s Academy of Dance is more than a dance school—it’s a place where creativity, confidence, and community shine. We believe every child has their own rhythm, and our mission is to help them discover it.

Offering a wide range of classes across all major dance styles, we support dancers from their very first plié to the excitement of performing on stage.

With a nurturing team, age-appropriate programs, and an encouraging culture, every student is empowered to grow, flourish, and dance in their own unique way.

Past Student Stories

Olivia Thomas, originally trained by Miss Siân, earned one of the highly coveted places at the prestigious Bird College Conservatoire for Dance and Musical Theatre. After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre and her dance teaching qualifications, Miss Olivia went on to perform as both a singer and dancer in fabulous 5* resorts.

Now, after several years in London, Miss Olivia has returned home to Wales to continue her studies after gaining a scholarship to complete a Masters at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she will be further perfecting her musical theatre craft. We have loved welcoming Miss Olivia back to teach at the school and share her knowledge.

"Sophie Watkins, trained with us from the age of 3 through to 19 and went on to receive an unconditional offer from Performers College. Now in her second year of training, she is working closely with industry professionals and continuing to refine her craft as she prepares for an exciting career in the performing arts.

Annual Show

Our annual show is a highlight of the dance school year and a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and progress. Held in a professional theatre setting, the show gives every dancer the opportunity to perform on stage, building confidence, teamwork, and a sense of achievement.

FAQ..,

What age can my child start dancing?

Children can begin dancing with us from the age of 3. Our age-appropriate classes are designed to gently introduce young dancers to movement, music, and basic technique in a fun and supportive environment.

Do students need any previous dance experience?

No previous experience is required. We welcome complete beginners as well as dancers with prior training. Classes are grouped by age to ensure every student feels confident and supported.

What styles of dance do you offer

We offer a wide range of styles including Ballet, Modern, Tap, AcroDance, and Musical Theatre. Our classes cater to recreational dancers as well as those wishing to follow a more structured training pathway.

What should my child wear to class?

Each class has a specific uniform to ensure comfort, safety, and correct technique. Information on classwear and how to order or arrange fittings can be found on our website, or you can email us for guidance.

Will my child perform on stage?

Yes. All students are invited to take part in our annual show, which is a highlight of the year and a wonderful opportunity for dancers to gain confidence and performance experience.

How do I enrol my child?

You can enrol by contacting us via email or through the enquiry form on our website. We are happy to answer any questions and help you choose the most suitable class.

Can my child try a class before committing?

Yes, we offer trial classes (subject to availability). This allows your child to experience the class and ensures it’s the right fit before enrolling.

Who teaches the classes?

All classes are taught by experienced, qualified teachers who are passionate about dance education and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment.

We are proud to offer classes at two convenient and welcoming locations, making it easy for families to find the right fit for them.

Maesteg – Church Street

Our main home is our purpose-built dance studio facility located on Church Street, Maesteg. This dedicated space provides a safe, inspiring, and professional environment where students can train, grow, and thrive. With fully equipped studios and a warm, supportive atmosphere, our Maesteg location offers an excellent setting for dance education.

Porthcawl

We also offer classes in Porthcawl at two fantastic local venues:
