Ballet

A structured yet engaging ballet class following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Dancers develop posture, basic technique, coordination, and musicality through age-appropriate exercises and creative movement in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Modern Dance

An energetic and expressive modern dance class following the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabus. Dancers develop coordination, strength, rhythm, and musicality through age-appropriate technique and creative movement, building confidence and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Musical Theatre

A fun and energetic class that introduces young performers to singing, dancing, and acting. Dancers build confidence, coordination, and musicality while exploring storytelling and character through age-appropriate routines inspired by the musical theatre classics. This supportive class encourages creativity, expression, and a love of performing on stage.

AcroDance

A dynamic class combining the strength and flexibility of acrobatics with the grace of dance, following the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Dancers safely develop balance, coordination, and core strength while learning foundational acrobatic skills seamlessly integrated into dance movement, all within a fun and supportive environment.

Annual Show

Our annual show is a highlight of the dance school year and a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and progress. Held in a professional theatre setting, the show gives every dancer the opportunity to perform on stage, building confidence, teamwork, and a sense of achievement.

What age can my child start dancing?

Children can begin dancing with us from the age of 3. Our age-appropriate classes are designed to gently introduce young dancers to movement, music, and basic technique in a fun and supportive environment.

Do students need any previous dance experience?

No previous experience is required. We welcome complete beginners as well as dancers with prior training. Classes are grouped by age to ensure every student feels confident and supported.

What styles of dance do you offer

We offer a wide range of styles including Ballet, Modern, Tap, AcroDance, and Musical Theatre. Our classes cater to recreational dancers as well as those wishing to follow a more structured training pathway.

What should my child wear to class?

Each class has a specific uniform to ensure comfort, safety, and correct technique. Information on classwear and how to order or arrange fittings can be found on our website, or you can email us for guidance.

Will my child perform on stage?

Yes. All students are invited to take part in our annual show, which is a highlight of the year and a wonderful opportunity for dancers to gain confidence and performance experience.

How do I enrol my child?

You can enrol by contacting us via email or through the enquiry form on our website. We are happy to answer any questions and help you choose the most suitable class.

Can my child try a class before committing?

Yes, we offer trial classes (subject to availability). This allows your child to experience the class and ensures it’s the right fit before enrolling.

Who teaches the classes?

All classes are taught by experienced, qualified teachers who are passionate about dance education and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment.

At Harriett David’s Academy of Dance, classes will run during term time only, unless otherwise stated.

Term 1 - 2025

  • Term starts: 8th September

  • Half term: 27th October - 2nd November

  • Term starts: 5th January

Maesteg – Church Street

Our main home is our purpose-built dance studio facility located on Church Street, Maesteg. This dedicated space provides a safe, inspiring, and professional environment where students can train, grow, and thrive. With fully equipped studios and a warm, supportive atmosphere, our Maesteg location offers an excellent setting for dance education.

Porthcawl

We also offer classes in Porthcawl at two fantastic local venues:
